Aditya Mahamkali: Advancing Secure, Scalable Digital Infrastructure at Global Scale
Aditya Mahamkali stands at the intersection of enterprise-scale engineering leadership and academically grounded innovation. A Vice President at Goldman Sachs, Mahamkali has built a career defined by the design, reliability, and security of complex digital systems that operate at global scale—systems where failure is not an option and resilience is a mandate.
At Goldman Sachs, Mahamkali plays a pivotal role in leading Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and delivery initiatives for the Marcus Savings Account platform, a mission-critical financial system serving millions of customers across web and mobile channels. His work centers on ensuring continuous availability, operational integrity, and real-time responsiveness across a distributed architecture comprising more than 130 microservices. By driving the onboarding of intelligent, proactive APIs that detect early signs of service degradation, he has enabled the organization to mitigate customer impact before incidents escalate—shifting reliability from reactive recovery to predictive prevention.
His technical leadership spans modern cloud-native ecosystems, with deep expertise in AWS infrastructure (including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and CloudFormation), Kubernetes-based orchestration, CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Terraform, and automation through Python and shell scripting. Mahamkali is particularly recognized for his work in observability and incident response, where he has leveraged platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, and PagerDuty to reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR), accelerate deployment velocity, and enforce compliance across highly regulated environments.
Beyond industry execution, Mahamkali has made sustained contributions to academic research, particularly in IoT network security, AI-driven edge–cloud task offloading, and secure service-oriented architectures. His research has been published in respected international journals, including IEEE and Wiley publications, and has accumulated over 100 citations with an h-index of 5—evidence of both relevance and scholarly impact. He also holds a granted patent in IoT network security, underscoring his ability to translate theoretical research into practical, deployable technologies.
Mahamkali’s influence extends into knowledge dissemination and professional service. He is the author of Mastering Machine Learning for Data Scientists, a book that bridges advanced machine learning concepts with applied Python-based techniques for real-world data science challenges. He has served as a Session Chair at major IEEE conferences, including ICCCNet 2025 at Manchester Metropolitan University and InC4 2024 under the IEEE Bangalore Chapter, and has delivered invited talks at leading academic institutions such as NIT Sikkim. His role as a peer reviewer for Springer Nature and ISACA further reflects his standing as a trusted evaluator of technical rigor and originality.
In recognition of the broader impact of his work, Mahamkali received the BIG Innovation Award from the Business Intelligence Group—an acknowledgment that places his contributions within a global context of technological advancement and industry relevance.
Through a career that integrates enterprise leadership, peer-reviewed research, patented innovation, and global professional service, Aditya Mahamkali exemplifies the modern technologist: one who not only builds systems at scale, but also shapes the standards and knowledge that guide the industry forward.
