FELLOW MEMBER

Laxmi Pratyusha Konda is a software engineer with more than a decade of professional experience specializing in cloud-native microservices, intelligent data extraction, and automation for financial and healthcare claim-processing systems. Across the full software development lifecycle, she has consistently delivered enterprise-scale solutions using Java, the Spring ecosystem, microservices architectures, and modern cloud platforms. Her work is distinguished by a pattern of going beyond business-as-usual delivery: she has repeatedly led complex technical initiatives, introduced automation that replaced manual and error-prone workflows, and engineered system improvements that measurably strengthened performance, reliability, compliance readiness, and user experience.

At Fidelity Investments, Konda served as a lead developer on the Health Care Expense Management (HCEM) application, a next-generation platform designed to replace an older system and modernize the end-to-end experience for healthcare expense workflows. Her objective was to deliver a more sophisticated digital experience while establishing a new relational model capable of accurately managing interactions among employees, employers, and insurance carriers. The work was innovative in both data architecture and operational automation: she designed the HCEM database model to support flexible client–carrier integrations and built automated consent and reject-file managers to process high-volume records with high accuracy. By reducing manual intervention and improving data reliability, these components increased user trust and created a scalable foundation for modern healthcare data workflows.

Konda also contributed to Fidelity’s Track n Pay modernization, where she focused on enabling HSA users to track claims, process medical payments, and upload receipts more efficiently. Her objective was to replace legacy user flows with a more responsive system and ensure reliable ingestion of claims data from external carriers. She developed scheduled parsing capabilities to collect claims and accumulator data through external integrations, and she enhanced the user interface using ReactJS to improve usability and adoption. The result was a more automated and responsive claims experience that accelerated claim visibility and improved processing efficiency through modern integration patterns and application design.

Earlier, at Deutsche Bank, Konda built a record of delivering mission-critical financial messaging and compliance work in environments where precision, interoperability, and timeliness are non-negotiable. As a lead developer, she delivered mandatory updates affecting global financial messaging through SWIFT, CREST, Broadridge, and other protocols, ensuring continuous compliance with evolving international regulatory requirements. Her work required implementing complex transformation and validation logic across multiple interconnected systems. By designing integration solutions using Java and IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender, she improved transformation reliability, reduced error rates, and delivered updates on accelerated timelines—protecting uninterrupted financial operations at enterprise scale.

In addition to core platform modernization, Konda drove audit remediation and security automation initiatives that strengthened operational compliance. She designed and implemented password remediation tooling and an automated report-delivery system leveraging Apache Camel and ERA automation frameworks, reducing compliance risk and eliminating manual steps that commonly introduce security gaps. She further extended automation into business operations by building tools that streamlined prioritization and reporting workflows. Through Spring Boot, ReactJS, Apache Camel, and Oracle SQL integrations, she delivered targeted solutions that removed hundreds of hours of recurring manual effort annually while improving reporting accuracy and timeliness.

Across healthcare expense management, claims automation, global financial messaging, and security-focused compliance engineering, Konda’s career demonstrates sustained technical leadership and practical innovation. Her body of work reflects the Fellow-level expectations of producing durable, high-impact systems, elevating engineering standards through automation and architecture, and advancing the reliability and integrity of mission-critical platforms.
