Shaibal Maji is an e-commerce systems engineering leader with 18+ years of experience designing and modernizing large-scale commerce platforms where resilience, latency, and operational orchestration directly determine revenue outcomes. His work spans retail and telecom environments, with a sustained focus on distributed cloud systems, platform architecture, and the applied use of data/AI patterns inside high-volume commerce ecosystems serving tens of millions of users and supporting billion-dollar revenue streams.

In a Fortune 500 environment, Shaibal has led multiple platform capabilities from architecture through production delivery, repeatedly operating at the point where complex fulfillment, vendor ecosystems, and recurring revenue models must integrate seamlessly into checkout, pricing, and order management without degrading customer experience. A signature theme in his portfolio is orchestration at scale: enabling multi-fulfillment within a single order, integrating marketplace vendor onboarding into composable commerce, and delivering subscription logic as a first-class platform capability.

His leadership on multi-fulfillment ordering introduced distributed order orchestration across multiple fulfillment paths while preserving a smooth checkout journey—an initiative tied to measurable commercial impact. He led the implementation of Marketplace, which onboarded a multitude of vendors and thousands of SKUs in a very short time, translating platform architecture into accelerated assortment expansion. He also led the implementation of subscriptions capability delivery, integrating subscription and replenishment logic into high-volume transactional workflows.

Shaibal’s modernization work extends beyond feature delivery into platform reinvention. As IT Manager for Product Development, he led a multi-year transformation to a MACH-aligned architecture and distributed microservices, decomposing legacy commerce into domain-driven microservices, supporting millions weekly users, and enforcing performance targets while guiding a major cloud migration to GCP. Earlier, as Lead Developer, he delivered omnichannel foundations, and critical features that increased store footprint effectiveness and improved engagement.

Prior to retail leadership roles, Shaibal led a major telecom commerce transformation migrating wireline commerce stack to a SaaS-based Oracle Commerce solution—demonstrating repeatable transformation capability in regulated, high-complexity environments.
