Vijay Kishorkumar Jothangiya is a financial and supply chain systems engineering leader with 19+ years of experience specializing in API integration, platform architecture, and large-scale distributed systems. His career spans global financial services and eCommerce organizations, where he has consistently been trusted with work that goes beyond incremental delivery—modernizing legacy platforms, redesigning high-risk workflows into resilient event-driven systems, and scaling cloud-native architectures that improve accuracy, throughput, and operational control in mission-critical environments.

At Xometry, Vijay served as Senior Engineering Manager for Financial Systems, leading strategic initiatives across accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and partner payments in close partnership with finance leadership and audit stakeholders. His mandate centered on stabilizing and modernizing core financial workflows while increasing compliance readiness and operational rigor. A defining feature of this work was the transition from tightly coupled financial processes to event-driven architectures capable of near-real-time processing at scale. He led the refactoring of purchase order cancellation workflows, eliminating $1.7M per month in financial risk, and rebuilt revenue recognition pipelines that reduced processing latency by 99% across 200,000+ monthly transactions—a transformation requiring deep expertise in distributed systems reliability, data correctness, and audit-aligned platform design.

At Wayfair, Vijay operated at platform scale as Associate Director of Engineering, directing multiple teams responsible for logistics and post-order support systems with objectives focused on cost efficiency, delivery accuracy, and international scalability. He led a modernization program that unified fragmented routing and logistics tools into a cohesive cloud microservices platform, enabling more predictable operations and extensible integrations. Under his leadership, the organization achieved approximately $29M in annualized transportation savings by consolidating routing tooling and optimizing supplier pickups. He also drove rapid international expansion of large-parcel delivery platforms into the UK and Germany in under three months, demonstrating how strong platform primitives and API-driven integration can accelerate global growth without sacrificing operational reliability.

At Western Union, Vijay led global engineering teams across payments modernization, KYC automation, and digital wallet integrations—bridging traditional remittance systems with modern digital ecosystems. He partnered directly with Google to deliver Western Union’s integration with Google Pay, enabling millions of users to send money through the GPay platform. In parallel, he led migration of remittance APIs to AWS-native services, reducing licensing costs while improving scalability, resilience, and operational flexibility—an archetypal transformation where modernization must preserve transaction integrity, regulatory controls, and customer trust.

As a Principal Engineering Consultant supporting TD Bank and Suncorp Bank, Vijay designed enterprise reference architectures and led multi-year modernization efforts aimed at reducing operational cost while increasing transaction throughput and reliability. His work replaced monolithic, vendor-dependent systems with modular Node.js microservices and modern payment gateway architectures, including the design of a multi-threaded payment gateway built for high-volume card transactions. These initiatives reduced operating expenditure by 15% while improving maintainability and performance through modularization and clearer ownership boundaries.

Earlier in his career, Vijay contributed to large-scale digital banking and payment infrastructure across multiple countries, with responsibilities extending from development into architecture leadership and agile transformation. He helped replace expensive legacy payment platforms with custom payment initiation engines—reducing licensing costs by 90%—and implemented core UK payment rails including BACS, CHAPS, and Faster Payments, building a foundation for long-term work in secure, scalable financial systems.

Across these environments, Vijay’s distinguishing signature is consistent: he converts complex, high-risk workflows into durable platform capabilities—event-driven financial processing, scalable logistics orchestration, and payment systems modernization—while aligning technology with auditability, correctness, and operational measurability.
