Vineel Muppa
Principal IS Architect at Amgen

FELLOW MEMBER
Vineel Muppa is a Salesforce Principal Architect whose 11+ year career has been defined by building large-scale, real-time Salesforce ecosystems for regulated and high-transaction enterprises across healthcare, telecom, and retail. His work sits at the intersection of event-driven architecture, DevOps modernization, AI-enabled automation, and compliance-by-design—an engineering posture that prioritizes reliability, auditability, and measurable operational outcomes.
At Amgen, Muppa has served as a Principal Architect responsible for the architecture, strategy, and governance of a Patient Service Platform built on Salesforce Service Cloud and Health Cloud, supporting 2.9M+ patients and 216K+ physicians. In this environment, he has advanced event-driven integration patterns using Salesforce Pub/Sub API, Platform Events, MuleSoft, and Solace PubSub+, enabling real-time synchronization of patient and service data with external healthcare ecosystems such as EHRs, specialty pharmacies, and payer networks. His approach has emphasized not only throughput and resilience, but also regulatory defensibility—implementing automated Adverse Event reporting aligned to FDA expectations, and embedding security monitoring through OAuth authentication signals and event-driven alerts to maintain HIPAA and HITRUST compliance.
Muppa’s delivery discipline is strongly DevOps-oriented. He implemented Copado-based CI/CD automation that reduced deployment errors and manual release effort, establishing repeatable release mechanics suited for compliance-heavy enterprise programs. He also advanced AI-driven self-service capabilities in patient engagement portals, reducing call center load while improving responsiveness—an outcome-driven model where architecture choices translate directly into measurable operational relief.
Before this, at T-Mobile, Muppa designed and developed a Salesforce-based B2B platform supporting 6,000 T-Mobile stores, 5,000 Metro stores, and 50,000 store employees. He led the Store Employee Provisioning System, centralizing onboarding workflows, store real estate agreements, inventory tracking, and compliance management. By automating onboarding and provisioning, he reduced cycle time materially and supported operational scalability across a vast retail footprint. He also brought the same DevOps rigor to telecom retail systems, using Copado to reduce manual deployment effort and accelerate reliable releases, while building multiple custom Salesforce applications to optimize retail execution and financial accuracy.
In an earlier Amgen role as Senior Specialist Software Engineer, Muppa helped industrialize DevOps at scale, designing and implementing a Copado-based framework for 150+ developers across 30+ applications. His model integrated security enforcement into the pipeline through automated scanning (including Veracode), regulatory checks, and data-masking controls—treating security and compliance as automated gatekeeping rather than manual afterthought. During the COVID-19 period, he delivered Work.com-based workplace safety solutions—QR-enabled health attestations, contact tracing, and shift controls—and integrated entry systems through Streaming API and Platform Events to ensure only symptom-free employees could enter workplaces. He also led a WhatsApp–Salesforce integration supporting Latin American field teams, improving real-time engagement and workflow traceability in the sales cycle.
At Grubhub, Muppa applied the same architecture principles to high-volume commercial onboarding. He designed and delivered a Salesforce CRM solution that automated restaurant onboarding and account management for 365,000+ restaurant partners, reducing manual onboarding work through self-registration, automated lead-to-account conversion, shipment tracking for ordering devices, POS configuration, and menu setup. He implemented secure REST integrations between Salesforce and order-management systems, then layered analytics using Einstein capabilities to identify peak order patterns, performance trends, and sales opportunities. On the performance engineering front, he optimized Salesforce data models using indexed fields, SOQL tuning, and Skinny Tables for high-speed data retrieval at scale—while strengthening security controls using OAuth 2.0, Named Credentials, Platform Encryption, and Field-Level Security.
Earlier in his career, Muppa contributed hands-on engineering across CUNA Mutual Group and Hyundai Capital America, converting business requirements into technical designs, implementing Lightning/Aura interactions, Batch Apex operations, and enterprise integrations (including Informatica On Demand and document automation via Conga Composer). Across these roles, a consistent theme emerges: he builds systems meant to survive real-world complexity—high user counts, strict compliance requirements, continuous delivery, and integration-heavy enterprise landscapes.
Beyond delivery, Muppa is also recognized as a technical leader and multiplier. He has led large cross-functional teams (including 100+ members at Amgen), run Architecture Review Panels, and mentored 75+ developers in Salesforce best practices. At T-Mobile, he mentored junior and mid-level engineers through reviews and hands-on training. His credentials—including Salesforce architecture certifications, Copado certification, and Scrum leadership—reinforce a career focused on operational excellence, governance, and sustainable engineering outcomes.
