One trend I continue to see across large enterprise analytics programs is the growing separation between operational reporting and enterprise analytics platforms.
Many organizations now prefer:
• Real-time operational reporting close to core ERP systems
• Historical and cross-functional analytics on cloud data platforms
• AI and forecasting models built on curated enterprise datasets
While this improves scalability and flexibility, it also creates new challenges around governance, semantic consistency, security alignment, and data duplication.
In my experience, designing a sustainable hybrid analytics architecture is becoming just as important as selecting the reporting tools themselves.
